  • Microbiota solution A / Microbiota solution B. NGS bacterial microbiota characterization with automatic interpretation of results

    • The composition of the human bacterial population, human MICROBIOTA, is important in many physiological processes and, in particular, the intestinal microbiota is notoriously related to the efficiency of the immune system and to the protection against pathogens.

It is known that alterations in the bacterial population can be associated with several pathological syndromes.

In the diagnostic field, the use of a standardized test can help to identify bacterial profiles already associated with specific pathologies and can be useful in identifying new bacterial profiles for the study of corrective therapies.

Microbiota solution A / Microbiota solution B is a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) in vitro molecular test, CE-IVD marked. It is based on PCR amplification of the hypervariable regions of bacterial 16S rDNA, by employing degenerated primers that lead to the identification of most of the bacterial populations present in the microbiota.

The following NGS sequencing allows the identification of the bacterial populations.

It is possible, potentially, to identify all the bacterial species in the sample without the selective pressure due to the bias of the laboratory culture conditions.

After the NGS sequencing step, samples are analyzed automatically by using a dedicated software which can provide a report for each single sample result, or a comparative report of the samples selected by the user.
